Northwestern Terra Cotta. Northwestern Terra Cotta Company
This heavily illustrated publication will chronicle the rise and demise of Chicago's architectural terra cotta industry, focusing on the evolution of Northwestern Terra Cotta Company from its founding as True, Brunkhorst & Company in 1877 through the closing of its last subsidiary, the Denver Terra Cotta Company, in 1965. In addition to images of important buildings for which the company supplied terra cotta, the book will include photos of the factory, its workers and its manufacturing processes, along with biographies of key employees. A separate index will list the company's buildings by date, location and architect.
